Hot Young Designers Marketing Company (HYD) designers launched their pioneer collection for Fashion Face Off 2011 on the October of last year where they made noise at the Global Pinoy Bazaar, St. James Bazaar, and Rockwell Moonlit Bazaar. A second collection was launched recently on January 25 under the same name, whose target market is the young career women who strive a balance between beauty and brain, and wish to have a striking ensemble for every occasion, day in or day out. The following are the different themed collections and their designers:
“Hello, Sexy!” by Klart Lim
Inspired by the New York City lights, this collection are mostly of party dresses made to shine on nights of glitz and glamour, bejeweled in glitter, sequins, and metallics. To accentuate the feminine curves are fit-and-flare sleeveless mini-dresses, slim-fitting party dresses with open slit sleeves, and sleeveless dresses with a v-shaped neckline and cascading ruffles, using materials such as crepe and chiffon. For the ladies who want to go out and revel in the vivacity of nightlife, this is the perfect collection to choose from!
“La Playa de Moda” by Bailey Agustin-Dava
Immediately translating to “The Beach of Fashion,” this collection is comprised of swimwear and cover-up pieces. Not to be taken in by its literal interpretation though, it also applies to its selection of dresses that need not only be confined to the summer vacation spots, but could also be a swanky fit while chilling out with friends, seeking to emulate the atmosphere of the beaches through its style.
“Mama Carine” by Renan Pacson
Inspired by former editor-in-chief of French Vogue Carine Roitfeld, one of the most influential women in the fashion industry, this collection may very well be the epitome of power and authority in the form of multi-buckled corset belts, zip-up miniskirts, and body-hugging stretch dresses. While power-dressing is a must in a working environment, fashion should not be bypassed. So for the young professionals, exude a commanding presence in style with different pieces from this collection!
Marc Blanco
Drawing inspiration from peers from the Fashion Institute of the Philippines, as well as Mikee Andrei’s and Paris Bagasao’s use of color into adapting a farfetched style from his typical, this collection could be considered a phase for breaking out of the shell by Marc Blanco. And deriving a story of his own from Glenn Close’s character in the 1987 American thriller “Fatal Attraction,” his creativity led him to use colors and prints, with pink and violet as the primary colors to make an eye-catching statement.
“The Unusual Marauder” by Jackie Maronilla-Abueg
Finding elegance in simplicity, as her design philosophy of “simple and effortless” so implies, brings out a subdued glow from any one caught in any ensemble from this collection. On the other hand, defiance of typicality transforms trouser material into practical yet chic apparel effortlessly. Believing that her designs should bring out the essence of a woman, her creations put emphasis on minimalist feministic ideals.
HYD has gone an extra mile for the second quarter shoot by collaborating with different brands to enhance the visual impact of the variety of ensembles—Bugsy’s, The Grove by Rockwell and The Bulb Studios for the venue; HD Make Up Studio and Academy for the hair and make up; Evita Peroni Philippines and Officine for accessories and shoes—as credited in the photos of all the designers.
As a pleasant surprise to those who purchased between the 25th of January and February, HYD will be raffling five pieces from the five designers featured in this post. Hope for a call any one of these days!
