ArtBGC Mural Festival 2016

The BAFI Public Art Program aims to make art truly interwoven into the very fabric of everyday life in BGC. With a vision to foster a spirit and character that gives soul to the places where people live and work, BAFI infuses urban surroundings with permanent installations, functional art projects and cultural events.

With this regards, Bonifacio Global City (BGC) as Bonifacio Art Foundation, Inc. (BAFI) celebrates ArtBGC Mural Festival 2016. Now on its sophomore run, ArtBGC promises vibrant new murals and programs to make art and culture more accessible to Citizens.

The festival is done in collaboration with LA-based art consultancy LeBasse Projects and Honeycomb Communities. Multi-disciplinary artists such as: PastelFD, Andrew Schoultz, HOTxTEA, Bunnie Reiss, Aleks Kocev and Blaine Suque are bringing in their unique brand of creativity, hoping to build on the iconic atmosphere of BGC. Representing the Philippines in this festival are Kris Abrigo, Trip63 and ArtBGC Open Call winner, FK.

Wine Pairing Class Session With Ewan Gunn

The first day of the #LoveScotch celebration in the Philippines consists of a Master Class with Diageo’s Master of Whisky, Ewan Gunn. Based in Inverness, Scotland, Gunn has been in the industry for 16 years, teaching people all over the world the best way to appreciate whisky.

Ewan Gunn has over 17 years of experience in the whisky industry and has spent many more years appreciating Scotland’s finest export. Ewan has a unique understanding of the Scotch Whisky production process and he brings a myriad of knowledge and expertise. In his career Ewan has clocked up over five million air miles, visiting 75 countries across six continents - his feet rarely touch the ground. Having tasted hundreds of whiskies, including Single Malt Scotch Whiskies from every operating distillery in Scotland, he comes from a position of real authority and shares his knowledge with genuine enthusiasm. In 2012, Ewan was inducted as a Keeper of the Quaich, one of the highest honors within the Scotch Whisky industry.

Gathering food and Scotch enthusiasts in Desiderata Lounge, Gunn held a nosing and tasting session for four Scotch whiskies: Johnnie Walker Black Label, Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve, The Singleton of Glen Ord 12 Year Old and The Singleton of Glen Ord Signature. Gunn noted the nose, palate, and finish for each of the four Scotch whiskies, as well as their perfect serves.

I meet this mom six years ago when I was attending event by an online parenting show.  We may not be that close but we have the same principle in life, that is never to give up and do everything for your child.

I was always happy to see her on some teleserye and commercial and would always comment on her facebook account if she has time to post some because of her busy schedule

After six years, I finally meet her again and so glad of what happened to her.

Cervical cancer continues to be a major threat for Filipino women. It is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among Filipinas . What’s worrisome is that two in three Filipinas diagnosed with cervical cancer may die within five years . Since culturally, Filipinas are known to be caring and selfless for others but tend to dismiss concerns about themselves, those who may have contracted cervical cancer may have been diagnosed at a late stage, when the chances of recovery are slim.

Meralco ELECTRICTY RATES LOWER IN MAY

Meralco has announced that the rate for residential customers in May will go down by 41 centavos per kWh, reducing it to PhP8.444 per kWh.  For a typical household consuming 200 kWh, this translates to a reduction of around PhP82 in their electricity bill.  Meralco Public Information Office Head Joe Zaldarriaga (in photo) said the reduction was due to the downward movement in generation, transmission, taxes, and other charges.  This month’s overall rate is lower by PhP1.54 per kWh compared to May 2015’s PhP9.98 per kWh.  It is also the lowest since January 2010, or over a period of six years.
