We
women play an import role in the society, especially in our family. We never stop in finding ways how we can
improve or help our household. No stone is left unturned if we put our mind in
something that we think could help our family, may it be emotionally,
physically and financially. With these, companies find ways how to empower
women to further improved their lives.
Last
week, a company once again presented it’s commitment to the women of today. The
event was held at Romulo’s Café in Makati. MasterCard is a technology company
in the global payments industry. It operate the world’s fastest payments
processing network, connecting consumers, financial institutions, merchants,
governments and businesses in more than 210 countries and territories.
MasterCard’s products and solutions make everyday commerce activities – such as
shopping, traveling, running a business and managing finances – easier, more
secure and more efficient for everyone.
In
line with their CSR, MasterCard Worldwide renews its commitment to women’s
empowerment by again joining hands with the Singapore Committee of UN Women to
launch the third edition of Project Inspire: 5 Minutes to Change the
World. MasterCard is also awarding an
additional USD25, 000 grants to past Grand Prize winner Hapinoy.
Project
Inspire is a digital and social media driven program that encourages young
people across the world to empower disadvantaged women and girls in
Asia/Pacific, the Middle East or Africa (APMEA). It opened in 2011, to coincide
with the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day and the 25th
anniversary of MasterCard in APMEA.
