I always wanted to learn how to drive but I don’t have the power do it. Lucky are those who found out about the workshop that Goodyear’s been giving now a day. Goodyear Autocare’s Women With Drive workshops are a free community service created to equip women with the knowledge and confidence to keep their car in good running order.
In partnership with TRS Defensive Driving Academy, the session focused on different areas of the car, including fluids, electrics, belts, hoses, wipers, under body and tires. Participants applied their new-found knowledge by learning hands-on from Defensive Driving Academy Road Safety Instructors Christian Billano, Pacifico Tee and Enrique Hormillo how to maintain cars, manage car engines and properly change tires.
Tire City’s CEO and Goodyear Autocare dealer expressed excitement about helping to empower women with confidence both behind the wheel and under the hood.
“It’s a helpless feeling for anyone being stranded by the side of the road, not knowing how to change a tire or why the car won’t start,” said Levy Laus. “The aim of the Goodyear Autocare Women With Drive workshops is to affirm Goodyear’s service to help women pre-empt problems with the car by knowing what to keep an eye on and allow them to develop confidence, and to feel safer and more secure in the face of any roadside predicaments.”
“We especially encourage learner drivers and young women who have recently got their license to add to their driving education. The workshops are ideal for mothers or fathers to bring their daughters to in order to ensure that they learn the basics of car maintenance before they are out driving on their own.”
