My Night with The Angelos

I love music, especially the classical one. With children that are performing artist,  classical is the only way to go. But what if you can turn a pop into a classical. I was invited to watch a show, that in one way was close to my heart, the tenors of classical music. The show featured the The Angelo’s .The Angelos is a classical-pop tenor group composed of young, vibrant and good-looking Filipino artists: from left to right- Paolo Libiran, Louie Abaigar, George S. Tagle.
The event was held at the No Other Bar located at Metrowalk, Ortigas Pasig. I was supposed to just drop by but the music they played made my feet glued to the ground and myself sit comfortable in the sofa. It was a night of entertain and passion.
Here are some of the songs that keep me wanting for more.

They are not new to the music scene.
George Sison-Tagle founded the group - Angelos in 2007. George was a former member of Phil.Opera Company. He had a solo classical-pop album with original compositions of mr.VeneeSaturno. He is a painter in his own right, and is known as “The Singing Painter”, and co-owns a music & art school where he teaches voice lessons & art classes. His father is renowned Filipino painter E.R. Tagle and his mother is producer-philanthropist Beth Sison-Tagle.
John Louie Abaigar was a finalist at GMA 7’s Pinoy Pop Superstar (Year 3) and was one of the Top contenders in Star Struck’s Year 6, he was a contract talent of GMA 7 for 3 years (during which he was a regular SOP artist). He is a product of Centro Escolar University’s Conservatory of Music, he plays piano and guitar & drums as well. He is also a very good composer &songwriter , in fact , the carrier single of the Angelos Christmas album – It’s Christmas Eve was his composition.
Rei Paolo Libiran is a very young Tenor, Voice major in the Conservatory of Music (CEU), and plays very well musical instrument like piano, guitar and drums. He is also a composer ,songwriter and a very good hiphop dancer. He joined the Manila Vocal Ensemble in 2009 and had a 3-month concert tour in Switzerland.
Tag by media as the Asia’s answer to Il Divo , The Angelos have been travelling and performing all over the world (with standing ovations) and have awed their audience with their “music from the heart”, their repertoire consist of 6 different languages ( Filipino, English, Spanish, Chinese, Italian, Malay), genres that cross-over from pop/rock to classical. Some of their notable performances include the 77th birthday concert for former US President Jimmy Carter, guest performer at the concert of LaniMisalucha in Las Vegas, back-to-back concerts with world-renowned pianist David Osborne, front act for singer-songwriter Stephen Bishop in San Francisco,Texas (McAllen,Houston, Dallas), at the World Expo, at the 10th anniversary of Macau, two concerts in the River Rock Show Theater in Vancouver, Canada, Resorts World Genting, Malaysia, Singapore-Marina Bay Sands Convention Center, Hong Kong Eton Group & Dragon Center, and many others.
The Angelos won the Aliw Awards’ Best Group Performance In a Concert category in 2009. In the local scene, they guested in ASAP, UnangHirit, Umagang Kay Ganda, Mornings @ANC, WalangTulugan of Kuya Germs, and some TV musical specials. They had concerts in the Music Museum, Teatrino, Manila Hotel, Makati Shangri-la, EdsaShangri-la, Meralco Theatre, and many other venues.
During their U.S. concert tours, the group also guested on TV such as one local Spanish television show, and “Balitang America” with host Gel Santos-Relos. They also paid a visit to the Maharlika Cultural Filipino Group where they held a vocal clinic for young Fil-Am children.
The Angelos’ first Christmas album entitled “It’s Christmas Eve” was launched at SM Megamall last November 6, 2010 with special message from healing priest, Fr. Fernando Suarez. The group conducted promo mall tours, as well as school campus tours during the holidays.
In 2011, The Angelos will continue their international musical and cultural missions abroad, as well as some local concerts and corporate events.
