Dynamic Teen Company represented by Efren Penaflorida: CNN Hero of the Year 2009
Golden ABC (GABC): the country’s fashion pioneer and owner of leading brands Penshoppe, Oxygen, ForMe, Memo, and Regatta
What do these two big names have in common?
Change, a positive change in our country.
Together with other blogger, I had the honor to meet the man who shows the world that there’s a hero in each of us. A day with the other volunteers made me realize what big scarifies each of the Dynamic Teen Company had given to its vision. Pushing the kariton with them as an experience you will never forget. Meeting and mingling with their students made me believe that there are people and company out there who care.
Giving donation in cash is different when you really get yourself involve. It’s not just the case of financial support but giving part of you that counts. This is what the team of Efren Penaflorida and the team of Golden ABC are known for.

Kariton Klasrum project had touched the lives of young children since 1997. It started by a group of teenager who believe that education should be a privilege of every child. Arm with fire in their heart, they had grown not only in numbers but also in alliances. Together with Golden ABC, they assist in providing knowledge to underprivileged children in barangay Caridad, Cavite. For fifteen years, these people never get tired of continuing their advocacy.
There was joy in my heart to found out that teaching the children was not just their goal. There were children that really went to the main stream, meaning; they are really back to the regular school. The Kariton Building now provides tutorials for these children to assist them in their everyday school work. They are finding gems among the rocks and uplifting the spirit of each uncut diamond they found.
“GABC believes that there are many who are inspired by Efren’s work and can be active agents of change in our country,” said Bernie Liu, CEO & President of GOLDEN ABC.
GABC and its employee volunteers are helping Penaflorida in teaching the underprivileged kids basic reading, writing, arithmetic, hygiene, and character building values and educating them to make a positive difference in their lives.
“While Efren himself has been a valuable resource person and inspiration, GABC continues to make a difference by promoting the values of passion, volunteerism and teamwork towards making a positive change,” Liu added.
Over the past two decades, GABC has been actively involved in various foundations that further the cause of people development
