Microsoft and McDonald's Celebrate Mother's Day with Windows 8

This month of May, we look forward to making Mother’s Day celebration more special to honor our moms. On this day, we make our moms feel more loved with gifts, poems, flowers or even simple “Happy Mother’s Day” text messages. However, with touch devices and apps in hand, we can now greet our moms in a more creative and modern way.

With this in mind, Microsoft Philippines and McDonald’s Philippines announced their partnership today to enable kids to use technology in expressing their love and gratitude to their moms this Mother’s Day through a promo called ‘Paint and Celebrate’.

The idea behind ‘Paint and Celebrate’ was brought by how technology has greatly affected our lives nowadays. Kids are often on their mobile devices where everything is a touch or tap away. Gone are the days when they created artworks with their bare hands and watercolors. But with ‘Paint and Celebrate’, moms can still receive heartwarming greeting cards from the creative hands of their kids. This initiative will also reinforce kids to use their gadgets not just for gaming but for building a stronger bond with their moms.

To join ‘Paint and Celebrate’, parents and kids can visit selected McDonald’s stores in Metro Manila all weekends of May from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and avail of any value meal and a Philippines and McDonald’s Philippines.

Happy Meal. Kids will be given a coupon with instructions to go to the Windows 8 station to create their masterpiece.  By the end of May, 60 winners will each take home a McCelebration party worth Php5,000.00. For the grand draw, one lucky kid will win a brand new Acer Windows 8 device. All winners will be determined through an electronic raffle. The artworks of all the winners will be posted as well in the Facebook pages of Microsoft

Aside from enjoyable apps, Windows 8 has the Family Safety feature that enables parents to monitor and manage the sites and apps that their kids can access. They can even get a report on the sites that their kids are visiting to monitor and guide their computing habits.
