Amazing, just amazing.............
Last May 1, 2016; while others are thinking about Labor
Day, we are watching kids compete for the 2016 Alaska Iron Kids in Sucat
Paranaque
Photos from the event
Just like last year, we have the same venue: the Village
sports club where an Olympic size pool serves as their starting point. A 100
meter for swimming and follow by run.
The Alaska Aquathon has three categories namely
- Race category with four age group
- Play Category with short and long distance intended to promote outdoor play for non-competitive participants
- Relay category with tow mix aged groups
It was nice seeing the same old faces and the new ones as
well
While the children swim and run, parents and coaches are
cheering them all the way; whether their kid is the first or the last
participants to cross the finish line; the real winner does not quit and still
smiles because they didn’t give up on the competition
As expected, we seems to have the same winners but with
different ranking but that’s not what’s important; the important thing is that they tried harder
and believe in themselves that they can do it because they love what they do
What’s the best part during the event is; I got to realize
that the sport is the just the preparation of this this for their lifelong
dream
While others are saying goodbye because they are turning
a year older and will not be qualified to join the event; they are now facing a
new chapter in their life
Good to know that after the race, they have dreams and
goal in life to accomplish
Hoping to see them
become lawyer or doctor or even an architect
and finish with their education
medal; I know that joining the Alaska Ironkids program prepare them to never
give up and reach for the finish line
