It was three years ago when I
joined a cooking contest which give me the honor of bringing home lots of
prizes. I wasn’t a cook that is a definite fact but me and my friend Melinda
love to experiment when it comes to cooking. The contest started with 12 teams
for elimination, 6 to the semi-finals and the 3 winning teams for the finals;
we won 3rd place (not bad at all if I may say for someone who doesn’t
know how to cook but loves to eat. I know the pressure and the honor of winning
that is why I’m so happy to share the good news about the latest cooking
challenge that coming our way.

Join this year’s Cuisinera Challenge: 30 Minute Easy Recipe, a cooking contest
for amateur cooks with a unique and original recipe.
The challenge is open to one
representative of a Filipino family who has no credentials in professional
cooking nor is practicing chef duties in commercial or industrial
establishments. To join, submit your original recipe, a 50-word write-up why
Solane is your favorite cooking gas, your receipt of a purchased Solane LPG
tank or refill and other personal document requirements stated on www.solane.com.ph/whats-cooking/2014/06/cuisinera-challenge-solane-lpg.
Mail the entries to Isla LPG Corporation, 14/F Citibank Center 8741 Paseo de
Roxas, Makati City until July 25 to qualify.
Criteria for the paper
screening are completeness of documents (30%), quality of answers in the essay
questions and mandatory information (30%) and quality of photos of the recipe
(40%).
Twenty-four contestants will
then qualify for the next round—the Cook-off set on August 2 at The Cookery
Place in Bonifacio Global City. During the Cook-off, each contestant should be
able to cook the recipe within 30 minutes. Quantity must be good for four and
plated for two. Criteria for the Cook-off round are dish preparation (20
points), originality and creativity (10 points), plating and presentation (30
points) and taste (40 points)
From the Cook-off, twelve
finalists will be selected. The contestant whose recipe earns the highest score
will win P30,000 cash tax free and a one-year supply of Solane LPG. The other
11 finalists will each receive P2,000 cash and a Solane gift pack. For more
