Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra Surprise

The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Olivier Ochanine, welcomed the holidays with a surprise treat for museum guests one Sunday afternoon. The brass group played their instruments through the 5 main galleries - even up the stairs to meet Stan the T.Rex - before joining the rest of the symphony at the Canopy Plaza. It was truly an extraordinary musical performance to the delight of many kids and adults.

For some people, the most interesting thing that they remember about peas is in one scene of Cartoon Network’s animated series, The Powerpuff Girls. In this early episode, Supper Villain shown in 1999, the new next-door neighbors are invited to the girls’ for dinner. The neighbor, Harold, then orders, “Eat your pea, Professor!” in what now is one of the most famous – and funniest – scenes of The Powerpuff Girls. It is a memorable scene because The Professor, a grown man, tried in an excruciating way to eat and swallow one small pea.

The True Meaning of Support

Typhoon Yolanda left the country with almost 6,000 people dead, more than 2 million families affected and P34 million worth of properties destroyed. But despite the devastation it caused, Typhoon Yolanda did not break the Filipino spirit. If for anything, it has revealed just how truly resilient Filipinos are. Just as important, this calamity has also displayed the emphatic nature of humanity. The outpouring support from around the Philippines and all over the world gave the victims encouragement and strength to rebuild their homes, their families and their lives.

SYKES is one with the rest of the world in responding to Visayas’ call for help. Days after the storm has passed, the call center quickly organized a donation drive and reached out to different organizations for relief efforts. Some of the employees even took it upon themselves to volunteer in the repacking and delivery of the relief goods. The SYKES site in Cebu also set up a feeding program for the Yolanda victims. SYKES maybe a global company but the bayanihan spirit is evident. Seeing employees donate not just food and water, but also their time and effort is truly moving.

When I attend the opening of Bay & Family Expo 2013 last Dec. 6, I was transported again to those times when I am pregnant with my kids. It was a happy to experience it again even though I was there to witness the opening day. Attending this kind of expo is not only beneficial to the mother but to the whole family as well.

Besides the different booth that showcase anything and everything about babies, there were also lot of areas that cater for the whole family as well, I was able to get inside the hall even before it was opened to the public.

I was so happy to get a glimpse of the whole area without any interruption. It took me around 15 minute to go around the area because there was lot of things to look at.

It was my 3^rd day boarding the vessel, St. Michael, the Archangel. As I waited for familiar view that would tell me that I’m in Manila already, I couldn’t resist to just sit back relax and enjoy the view. After a good night sleep, I was so excited for we are finally near our destination, Iloilo.  Expected time of arrival is 10am. As early as 9am, there are passengers already lining up to the exit area. Sipping a cup of coffe while viewing the majestic give me a feeling of relaxation, I even have the whole deck to myself to take more photos for souvenir.

My Night with The Angelos

I love music, especially the classical one. With children that are performing artist,  classical is the only way to go. But what if you can turn a pop into a classical. I was invited to watch a show, that in one way was close to my heart, the tenors of classical music. The show featured the The Angelo’s .The Angelos is a classical-pop tenor group composed of young, vibrant and good-looking Filipino artists: from left to right- Paolo Libiran, Louie Abaigar, George S. Tagle.

The event was held at the No Other Bar located at Metrowalk, Ortigas Pasig. I was supposed to just drop by but the music they played made my feet glued to the ground and myself sit comfortable in the sofa. It was a night of entertain and passion.
