Choose Phillipines  Award was launch to honor netizens who explore and promote the places they have been in the Philippines

Netizens from all over the country and around the world can start submitting their nominations for different awards after its launch on “It’s Showtime” last  Saturday (August 27) through its website, ChoosePhilippinesAwards.com. Submission of nominations will end on September 24.

Honoring the best of what the Philippines has to offer, Choose Philippines Awards will collect nominations for three major categories – Best Destination, Best Dish, and Best Accommodation.

CHOOSE PHILIPPINES AWARDS: BEST PHOTO CONTEST

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

This promo invites the participants to send in their nominations for Choose Philippines Awards by logging on to http://choosephilippinesawards.com from August 27 to September 24, 2016. Participants should send their nominations with their complete details as stated in the promo mechanics for a chance to win P500-worth of Choose Philippines merchandise.

WHO ARE QUALIFIED TO JOIN

The promo is open to all Filipinos ages 18 to 50 years old, male or female, and a resident in the Philippines.
 

WHO ARE DISQUALIFIED TO JOIN

a.) Regular employees, contractual, talents, and their relatives up to the second degree of affinity or consanguinity of the following are not allowed to join the contest:

i.) ABS-CBN and all its subsidiaries, including interactive service provider, ABS-CBN Digital Media Division.

ii.) Corporate Sponsors and all its subsidiaries and media agencies.
 

b) Persons reporting regularly to the promoter, sponsor or advertiser under a contract of                  service and who, by the nature of the service they render may have a direct and personal          knowledge of this promotion are likewise disqualified.

7.HOW TO JOIN

​A. The participant must log on to http://choosephilippinesawards.com starting August 27  to September 24, 2016.

B. Participants should register using Facebook login and provide the following details: Full Name, contact number, birthday, address, and email address.

C. After registering, they should nominate in one of Choose Philippines Awards categories. Categories are as follows:
Choose Philippines Best Destination
Choose Philippines Best Accommodation
Choose Philippines Best Dish

D. To submit a valid entry, participant must provide the complete information on the required fields.

1. Upload their original/owned photo of their nominee
-should be in jpg/jpeg/png format.
-should not be a collage
-90% of the photo should highlight the nominated place, accommodation, and/or food.
-text should only be 10% of the image submitted

4. City/Municipality of Nominee

5. Answer to the question: “Why are you nominating this?”

-minimum of 150 characters.

E. There is no maximum number of entries per user per category. A user may only win once in the entire promo duration.

DEADLINE OF SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES is on September 24, 2016 11:59 PM.
a.) Entries that did not meet the deadline for submission of entries are disqualified: September 24, 2016, 11:59 P.M., date and time based on Choose Philippines official time when entry is received by the official promo microsite.

PRIZE

 1 winner per category will get a chance to win P500-worth of Choose Philippines merchandise.

Prizes are transferable but not convertible to cash.

10) SELECTION OF ENTRIES will be on October 18, 3:00P.M. at 9501, Floor B, ELJ Bldg. Mo. Ignacia St., Quezon City, in the presence of a DTI representative, three (3) Choose Philippines representatives, and (15) travel bloggers and industry experts.

A. Visual & Aesthetic (20%)

The photo is well-composed with a background that highlights the subject. It does follows design elements and principles that make a photograph outstanding.

B. Content (40%)

The photo contains relevant information about the entry and, more that the facts, it should evoke a certain kind of emotion. The story (caption/description) behind the photo should depict meaningful Filipino journeys through experiencing stunning destinations, delectable dishes, and valuable accommodations.

C. Audience Response (20%)

The photo elicit interest thus it gets the most number of shares.

D. General Characteristics (20%)

 The photograph should be original and conveys insight of the traveler in an artistic way.

Choose Philippines and DTI Representatives will then declare on day of selection the three highest-scoring entry per category based on criteria.

11) VALIDATION OF ENTRIES ANDAND NOTIFICATION OF WINNER

a) The declared winners will be notified by an authorized Choose Philippines representative via phone, e-mail, and registered mail. It will also be announced during Choose Philippines Awards on November 22, 2016., or both; that their entry was scored the highest and later on that, upon validation, was declared winner on July 11, 2016. Instructions on how to proceed to claim the grand prize shall be given via phone, e-mail and registered mail on the same day.

b) Upon verification of the entries, the individuals claiming to be the declared winners, must bring the following documents for verification purposes must present the following to the authorized Choose Philippines representative between October 19 to 31, 2016 at the Digital Media Division office, 9F Eugenio Lopez Jr. Communications Center, Mother Ignacia Avenue, South Triangle, Quezon City, between 10 AM – 6 PM.:

i.) A printout (screen shot) of the e-mail of notification

ii.) Photocopy of barangay certification(s)/proof of residence showing compliance with residency requirement

c) If the winner is residing outside Metro Manila, the prize will be shipped to the nearest ABS-CBN Regional station office.

d) No text notification will be sent to the winners advising them that they were the declared winners.

e) The winners shall solely bear all costs and expenses relating to, arising from or connected with, the requirement to present the necessary documentation on the said validation schedule stated above.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

1.  Participants represent and warrant that they have read, understood and agreed to abide by its complete rules and regulations.

2. Participants will retain copyright and ownership of their entries. However, by submitting their photos, participants hereby agree to grant ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries and affiliate an exclusive, royalty-free license to use the same.

3.  ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries and affiliates reserve the right to block, remove, or disqualify communications or materials that it determines to be (a) abusive, defamatory, or obscene, (b) fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading, (c) in violation of a copyright, trademark or other intellectual property right of another or (d) violates any law or regulation or (e) offensive or otherwise unacceptable to ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries and affiliates at their sole discretion.

4.  ABS-CBN disclaims any liability for failure to receive or acknowledge entries arising from force majeure, including acts of God, fires, floods, wars or other disturbances, labor unrest, or other causes beyond its control.

5. ABS-CBN shall be free from responsibility in case of injury, accident or death by bearer of the gift certificate prizes and companion during the trip.

All the nominations that will be received by the site will then be shortlisted by the country’s top travel bloggers, lifestyle experts, and industry leaders.

The final 5 nominees for each category will be announced on October 10, when the voting for the Choose Philippines Awards will also begin.

Finally, the winners will be decided based on votes cast by netizens on the Choose Philippines Awards website and will be honored in a ceremony in November.

Aside from the major categories, Choose Philippines will also present special awards. There is Best Pinoy Advocate, which will go to the country’s most admirable locals, individual or group, who brought honor to the country; Best Pinoy at Heart, which will go to an individual or group of foreigners who have shown remarkable affinity towards the Philippines, its people, and all things Pinoy; and Best Festival, which will honor the most exciting, unforgettable, and meaningful Filipino festival.

Not to be missed is the Best Photo Contest, which will honor netizens who will send their nominations for different categories.
