WNBA Champion Taj McWilliams-Franklin Alaska Moments

I was up as early as 5:30  and looking forward of bonding with one of the Alaska’s Jr. WNBA mentor. Our destination is at Baseco Manila

And finally, the day that I am waiting for has come. Together with other media and bloggers, we patiently wait for our turn to be able to get a group interview with New Orleans Pelicans Norris Cole and WNBA Champion Taj McWilliams-Franklin. They will mentor this year’s batch of Alaska’s Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA National Training Camp finalists.

Alaska’s Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA is the league’s global youth basketball participation program for boys and girls, teaches the fundamental skills as well as the core values of the game at the grassroots level in an effort to help grow and improve the youth basketball experience for players, coaches and parents.

The event was held at NBA Café, SM Aura last Wednesday, April 20, 2016

There was a lot to learn from both of the mentor.  Norris Cole and Taj McWilliams are both accomplish players and coach but more importantly they stand for something far more than that.

Norris Cole was trained by a Filipino coach for 2 years, of which gives him an idea of our culture. He was warm during the interview and now he is excited to coach Filipino kids and impart them the value of the sports. Besides being a good basketball player, Cole is also a good example since he was also excellent when it comes to his studies. Being a salutatorian, he shows that you could be good on both things just as long as you put your heart and mind into it.

School days are finally over and just like me; you are also just waiting for the release of the report card of your kid

With that being said, what’s your plan this summer for your kids

I remember when my kids were young; I usually enrolled them in different art lessons and other summer activities so that they would be bored during the vacation

But there is more to it than just having their enrolling them in summer classes or activities

There are things that you cannot learn inside the classroom; there are times that your needs to expose them in other things besides book

As for my daughters, they are into arts; but not my son because he prefer sports
