UN children’s agency UNICEF, in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) held a celebration to mark 25 years of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) in the Philippines – with participation by children and a wide group of partners.

While playing, or even simply touching objects, kids unknowingly expose themselves to germs that pose serious threats to their health. These diseases are preventable but dangerous. Every year, 3.5 million kids around the world lose their lives due to these diseases. And like the millions of children worldwide, Filipino children are also exposed to harmful bacteria that cause diarrhea and respiratory sickness.
